RFID- enabled library automation system

In a city like shenZhen,with 100 million population, there are 959 public libraries to serve them. Among them, there are 673 public libraries (rooms) (including 3 city-level libraries, 9 district-level libraries, and 661 grass-roots libraries below the street), with a total construction area of 384,000 square meters and 40,500 reading seats.There are 286 self-service libraries (including 235 self-service libraries in city blocks and 51 24-hour bookstores).

All the libraries share the same RFID- technology based system.First ,a library RFID card authorize you to borrow books.No matter where you live in,within 1 hours traffic times,you can find the self-service libraries ,a metal shelf equipped with RFID reader and full of books attached to the RFID library tags which contain the books information.Through the metal shelf,you can return  or borrow books.The return route is very simple.Put the books on the platform,the shelf will identify the books through the installed HF RFID reader.‘Successful return’ when the screen appears such words,you can leave .

It’s been more than 10 years since ShenZhen adopted the RFID technology to improve their service.A small size RFID tag ,a pieces of RFID library card and a built-in RFID reader(self-service library ) has changed the city.13000 people /days in the library,30000 books’ re checked out per days.
