How could we choose a passive RFID tags for the Retails stores?

RFID is being used to increase work efficiency(Inventory managements),boost sales and customer service levels.(faster checkout experience &Personalized shopping experience).This’s a potential technology set the retailer apart from the competition.Maybe we should embrace it soon.

When we’re choosing a RFID tags ,there’re lots of factors we should not leave behind.The frequency is the first one.The rest factors likes ,read distance,multiple tags readable/time,cost-effective etc.

UHF is the most widely used in the retails markets.


When the frequency has been certain,then we should have a clear understanding of the factors like:

1) ,Working temperature/humidity.

The temperature /Humidity would effect the work performance of the RFID tags,so we should pay special care,mostly of the items would be exposed to the air,some of them would be stored in the freezer.Different environments ,different tags.This factors would effect the packaging materials.

2) ,Read distance.

The signal of the RFID would be effect by the metals ,water etc.So Before we attache the tags to the items,we should know it well.If it’s the plastic /Clothes/Paper,we could turn to cost-effective solutions ,as most of the tags could work well in this situations.When comes to the metal,liquid or glass,then we should pay special cares.The performance of the passive RFID tags would be deeply effected by it.

Everything has a ways out.This’ s a much simple solutions to improve it,just have a smart design of the tag structure-a updates version of the standards ones.It’s been widely used in China’s retailers.
